Pushing myself in a new direction ..... painting smaller images than usual. Thought I would share some of the process/steps along the way. Ready to hang Acrylic painting on 20" x 20" Gallery Wrapped Canvas....$200.00.
Preparing for fall exhibition at Pynelogs Art Gallery and Cultural Centre in Invermere, British Columbia this is a work in progress on a Autumn landscape painting. The first 2 paintings are a quick study on a 9" x 11" canvas. Expressing my love of Autumn and it's rich colours I am now working on a 2' x 3' Gallery Wrapped Canvas. Loosely sketching out my drawing the first layers of colours are mostly complimentary colours. For the background I used organic sponges to layer in the colours. To create the leaves in the foreground i tried several different brushes as well as a palette knife. Dabbing the paint on with a No. 2 Robert Simmons brush gave the results i was looking for! ....... more update to come!

So pleased to be selected as one of the featured artists for the 2017 Pynelogs Gallery Season. Along with 4 other artists I will be exhibiting my art at the Pynelogs Gallery in Invermere, B.C. September 12th to 30th. Pynelogs Art Gallery is growing in popularity as a favorite destination for a cultural experience and I am thrilled to be a part of it this year. An Artist Party Soiree is planned and I have the opportunity to invite my friends, family and potential clients to the event. Stay tuned for posting of date for Artist Party Soiree!
Two weeks in the sun just would not be complete without some quick watercolour sketches to add to my art diary. Perhaps a painting combining these images with memories and photos taken while in Maui.
