Elephants - some say fourteen of them - did escape from the Sells Floto Circus in 1926, as they were being unloaded from the train in Cranbrook, B.C.   Our committee of three, LaVerna Peters, Yvonne Vigne and Lynn Taylor, under the umbrella of Cranbrook and District Arts Council, spent 2018-2019 working towards our goal of publishing this book.  Fourteen Trumpeting Elephants is illustrated by 13 Kootenay Artists (Ann Aitken Anderson, Monique Cudbertson, John DeJong, Dawn Fenwick, Ann Holtby Jones, Bill McColl, Sam Millard, Catherine Moes, LaVerna Peters, Kirsten Taylor, Lynn Taylor, Josie Ruoss, and Yvonne Vigne) and written by Cranbrook Author Norma Kroeger.
